I Dream Of A World With Peace.
María Cristina Azcona is an Argentine psychologist, author, educator, and tireless advocate for peace through education and culture whose work has gained international recognition across multiple continents. Trained as a psychologist at the University of Salvador (1975) and as a family counselor at the University of Navarra, Spain (1999), Azcona has built a distinguished career integrating clinical practice with peace advocacy and literary contributions. She founded and serves as President of Peace Worldwide (WWPO), directs the International Forum for Literature and Culture of Peace in Latin America (IFLAC), and holds leadership roles in the World Association for Global Harmony and the Hispanic Writers Union Peru. Her psychological expertise encompasses psychotherapy, family counseling, educational psychotherapy, and forensic psychology—she has conducted psychodiagnoses for over 3,000 civil and labor trials and worked as an independent consultant on injury cases. As a UNESCO researcher on education for peace, Azcona champions permanent, non-systematic education as a strategy for cultivating peace in children and adults. Her literary output is substantial: she is a bilingual author and editor (Spanish/English) of 16 books, editor of 20 volumes of The Taj Mahal Review, author of prologues to 60 works, and columnist for scholarly publications including GRAMMA (University of Salamanca) and Graphemes (University of Arizona). Her numerous awards and recognitions—including a 2013 Nobel Peace Prize nomination, a 2014 International Forum award for contributions to a culture of peace, and a 2015 Gold Vip Lighthouse on Literature—span countries from Argentina and Norway to India, Israel, Russia, and the USA. Azcona’s lectures address critical social themes including family conflict resolution, childhood humiliation and dignity, education of the third millennium, and the therapeutic power of poetry and literature in cultivating inner and outer peace.
